Stepping into the Spotlight: Robert’s Square Dance Feature on Local TV

With an undeniable sense of rhythm and camaraderie, Robert and his team of three volunteers from the community recently made their TV debut on Living East Tennessee. Their appearance was not just a demonstration of dance but a testament to the joyful spirit and inclusivity of square dancing.

In spite of the limited group size, the three volunteers effectively embodied the essence of a lively square dance. Together, they delivered a captivating performance, displaying the synchronicity and energy that define this traditional dance.

Despite the time constraints, Robert managed to briefly share his personal journey with square dancing. This quick conversation painted a picture of his passion for the dance form and the sense of community it fosters.

At the outset, Robert took on the role of a caller, guiding his trio through the dance steps. In a memorable moment, Robert transitioned from caller to dancer, jumping in to help demonstrate a classic do-si-do. This seamless switch further highlighted the dynamic, participatory nature of square dancing and Robert’s multifaceted involvement in it.

Robert’s TV appearance, however brief, perfectly encapsulated the spirit of Smoky Mountain Square Dance: anyone can experience the infectious joy and camaraderie of square dancing.

We are incredibly proud of Robert and his team for representing our community on such a platform. Their performance was a shining endorsement of what we stand for – unity, joy, and an infectious love for dance.
